Bashtova Castle rises near the village of Bashtova at a distance of 3-4 km north of the river estuary Shkumbini. The castle was built in the fifteenth century and served the Venetians. Bashtova area is referred to as a river port in Shkumbin and a grain export center. The castle, square shape with dimensions 60 x 90 mertra.

The western part of it is rebuilt in the eighteenth century. Its walls have a height of 9 meters. Castle booming around a laurel forest, which besides being declared a monument of nature, creating a more attractive environment for outdoor picnics. From the castle walls can observe the coast as close at hand, from Durres bay until the Karavasta Divjaka. To visit the castle should go Bashtova cottage village, south of the city.
